Professor emeritus Donald W. “Huffy’’ Huffmire, 89, of Rochester, N.H., passed away in December. He joined the management faculty in 1969 and retired as an associate professor in 1997.
“He was absolutely loved by MBA students and always received top ratings,’’ recalled professor emeritus Jack Veiga. “They nicknamed him ‘Huffy.’”
Huffmire conducted management training and consulting for decades both in the United States and in China. He enjoyed boating at his family’s summer home in Ocean Point, Maine, and was an avid photographer. He is remembered for his kind heart and gentle wit, and as a dedicated teacher who gave sound advice to his students while making learning enjoyable.
He is survived by his wife Madelyn Huffmire, a former marketing/business law professor at UConn, a sister, and three children.
